The FREAK was written for my band students with the purpose of providing them with a “fun” song to play. The title has provided me with the opportunity to share with them that usually when another individual makes fun of someone, it is because they are jealous and not willing to put forth the effort that it takes to learn to play an instrument. The FREAK was written for my band students with the purpose of providing them with a “fun” song to play. The title has provided me with the opportunity to share with them that usually when another individual makes fun of someone, it is because they are jealous and not willing to put forth the effort that it takes to learn to play an instrument. I often remind “my freaks” how special they are to me and how very proud I am of them. The FREAK is dedicated to the past and present members of the Madison County Central School Bands.
